The project has now received all planning approvals. We are currently working on the project financing and key construction contracts. The data from the wind monitoring masts confirm that the site is an excellent wind resource.

We are currently still collecting wind data at Bald Hills, although it all looks very promising. Additionally, we are negotiating the finances for the project.

This is still in feasibility stage, but it is looking very feasible indeed. A monitoring mast is being delivered to the area on 28/1/2008 and will be put up soon. The communities of Beaufort and Skipton continue to be very supportive.
Much work is currently being conducted on flora and fauna. in particular, we are working with DSE on a brolga study. The studies of this will be released soon.
25 January 2008 Barbecue Rescheduled!
The Stockyard Brolga community barbecue has been rescheduled for Friday 29 February, starting at 6.30pm at the Lake Goldsmith Hall.
Wind Power extends an invitation to the local community to listen to Brett Lane discuss the brolga study and other fauna issues over a barbecue and a few drinks. RSVP: Kasia by 22 February or phone Wind Power on (03) 9819 0117 for more details.

We are still recording wind data at Tuki. Once this has finished, the data will be analysed by our wind experts and we can proceed from there.
In terms of the Significant Landscape Overlay, we are still in the process of obtaining legal advice. We will inform the community when we have more information on this.

The Wonthaggi turbines continue to provide power to the people of the Bass Coast Shire. Electricity generation graphs can be seen from the Projects page. Bird and bat strikes continue to be much lower than the allowable limits set out in the documentation.
29 Feb - 1 Mar 2008 Wonthaggi Energy Innovation Festival
The Wonthaggi Energy Innovation Festival will bring innovative energy, building and sustainability oriented displays and exhibitions to a fabulous setting - adjacent to the annual Wonthaggi Human-Powered Grand Prix.
