Project Details
The wind farm site is located in the area approximately 9.5 kms north of the township of Smeaton towards Clunes, which is located approximately 37kms to the north of Ballarat.
The project was initially proposed to consist of 19 turbines around the Stoney Rises rises area. Due to increasing interest from land owners in the area, Wind Power is now looking at a larger area for the proposed wind farm development.
The proposal is in the very early stages of development and the number and location of turbines is unknown at this stage.
The size and layout of the wind farm is subject to further environmental and planning investigations, in particular in relation to the significant landscape overlay issue.
