Tuki

Project Status

Origin Energy has finalised an analysis of the wind resource at Tuki in Central Victoria, and concluded it would focus on other more optimal wind sites in the region and would cease assessment of the proposal for a wind farm on the Tuki site.

Origin currently operates the Cullerin Wind Farm in NSW and is advancing a number of projects around South-Eastern Australia, including Stockyard Hill in Western Victoria, for which Planning Panel hearings are underway, and also the nearby Lexton project which has received its permits and for which Origin is undertaking pre-construction activities.

Origin thanked the members of the local community for their input and involvement during the life of the project, and said it appreciated the many expressions of support. Origin will finalise the community engagement program with a newsletter and discussions with local landowners and community members over coming weeks.

Project Details

The proposed wind farm site was located in the area approximately 9.5 kms north of the township of Smeaton towards Clunes. The project was initially proposed to consist of 19 turbines around the Stoney Rises area.
